ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND RENEWABLE ENERGY

Photovoltaic panels

The photoelectric effect represents the transformation of solar energy (“photon”) into electrical energy (“volt”). This effect is based on three simultaneous physical phenomena, closely related to each other:

  • Light absorption by materials: in a photoelectric material, part of the energy of the light flux will be returned in the form of electricity.
  • Energy transfer from photons to electrical charges: photons will transfer their energy to peripheral electrons, which once released can form an electric current
  • Load collection: loads released by lighting must be extracted from the semiconductor material and the creation of an electrical circuit.

Solar Panels

Solar thermal energy is based on the production of hot water used in buildings, or in order to allow the operation of turbines as in the case of conventional thermal power plants, for the production of electricity. They work on the principle of the radiator: it collects solar heat and transfers it, heating the water, and the commissioning is based on two phenomena: dark objects absorb heat and hot water rises in the tank. The collector tubes absorb the sun’s rays, heat the water that rises in the tank, the cold water moves in the collectors, where the process is repeated.

Heat pump

A heat pump is a device that can provide heating, cooling and hot  water for residential, commercial and industrial applications.

The most important feature of this type of installation, the heat pump, is that it can provide both heating and cooling, doing them in parallel. The cycle underlying heat pumps is the refrigeration cycle, which is known as the thermodynamic cycle.
